Sunny Zheng

Since I was 12 years old, Jesus has been my only constant. In a turbulent home, He was the one thing I could cling to as a child. In the tumult of disparate voices that claimed to hold "truth" in my high school and college days, He was the only Truth that couldn't be fully deconstructed by postmodern thought. In times when I have felt utterly alone, He has been Emmanuel – God with me. In times of my own doubting, He has welcomed me to ask Him my questions. In times of anger and disappointment and pain, He has been faithful even when I have not been faithful. Over and over again, in big and small and everyday ways, He has shown His existence and His goodness to me.

It's extremely difficult to render my answer in neatly packaged words but in short: Why Jesus? Because I cannot imagine my life or reality itself without His existence. Because He has shown me love that does not fail or fade. Because in and through and with Him, I know I am not alone.
