Jesus is the son of God; God in the flesh: John 3:16; John 1:14

He is all knowing: He always points you in the direction you would go in if you knew everything he knew. He knows you better than you know yourself. (Isaiah 66:18, Colossians 2:3) — every one of my failures or change in plans is a detour towards your better idea.

He is promise keeper: You finish what you begin (1 Peter 1:3-5, Jeremiah 39:11).— your perfect promise cannot be broken.

He is persistent: He chases after the lost. He never gives up on you. (Luke 19:10). — I have devoted my life to you, yet I fall short from time to time giving you my attention when I should. You still chase after me and love me endlessly.

He is just: Every battle, every injustice will be made right in due time with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, as He has promised (psalm 103:6) — when the world is unfair and unjust, you promise to make it right, and you have compassion when you see how I battle with injustice.

He is compassion: God, a perfect, flawless, complete creator, took the form of a human in order to feel compassion for his creation. He walked in our shoes, felt our pain...a pain and suffering beyond what we could ever imagine. (Luke 23:34, Isaiah 53)

He is healer: He is a miracle worker giving us life when there is doubt. Mending our brokenness, healing our wounds, fixing what human hands can’t fix. (Psalm 147:3, 103:3) — You’ve healed every dent and scratch that the world could cause, no matter how broken I have felt.

He is peace: He is the stillness in a restless world, the stopping point to an endless race (mark 4:35-41) — When I feel like the world is moving too quickly for me to be still, you whisper your promise of peace from a quiet spot. You keep the world moving behind my stillness so that I don’t have to.

He defines our success: He is our victory when all feels lost (psalm 20:6, proverbs 2:7). I find my identity in who I am becoming through the process of sanctification, not through any of my achievements or accomplishments on earth.

He holds for us an eternal adventure: In a world of his divine creation, such small human beings yet so much to explore, so much is still unseen, so much still to experience, and more being created. We get a taste of an eternal adventure here on earth, and you’ve given your son so that we can experience that (1 corinthians 2:9) — when I long to see everything, do everything, experience everything, you remind me that treasures are before me, and that they will exceed any and all expectations.

He is constant: When everything around me changes, you remain the same (Hebrews 13:8) —You never change. Every promise you’ve made, every characteristic you have remains the same forever. I cannot depend on an ever-changing world, but I can depend on a constant, unwavering creator.

He brings hope: When things aren’t looking so promising, your promise remains. (Hebrews 6:17-19, Romans 5:5, Hebrews 11:1, Romans 15:13, psalm 38:15) — The negativity and brokenness of the world have no effect on the hope that I have received with the promises you have made. The positivity and beauty I get to experience on earth is a mere glimpse of what you have in store for me as a believer and as your child.

He defines true love: (1 Corinthians 13:4- 7, 1 John 4:8, John 3:16) Your love is the ultimate standard, and there is nothing more compelling.
